It. Is. Happening!!! I got engaged on May 2, 2025 and could not be happier. A little backstory: Like many modern couples, Matthew and I met online. We planned a casual first date, just a quick trip to a local ice cream shop. What started as a quick outing turned into a full evening of laughter, spontaneous dinner, and strolling around town.
Fast forward to May of 2025, we got engaged at that same ice cream shop! Matthew planned it all so well and I was extremely surprised. I thought we were just meeting his sister for some ice cream, if I had known what was coming I might have brushed my hair or changed out of my old Led Zeppelin t-shirt.
After I said yes (!!!), Matthew also surprised me with a dinner he had planned with both of our families. It was the perfect celebration. On the way there, one of my nephews turned to my sister-in-law and asked, “Do we still get to go to Olive Garden if she says no?” Iconic.
Once the excitement settled, it hit me: I have to plan a WEDDING.
Cue the Type A brain: vision boards, spreadsheets, color palettes, checklists, Pinterest rabbit holes…you name it, I’m on it. So if you’re into love stories, event planning, or just want to watch a woman try not to lose her mind while wedding planning, house shopping, and finishing a master’s degree stick around.
